Life career


Detlef Steffenhagen

was born in 1961. He started his musical formation at the age of 5 and he gave his first organ concert when just 14 years old.

He studied at "Hoch'schen Konservatorium" in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) and continued his studies at Folkwang Music Highschool with Gerd Zacher.

From 1988 to 1999 he worked as an organist in the "Johanniskirche", the most important baroque church in Frankfurt am Main.

As a several times winner of the "Jugend musiziert" contest ("Youth makes music"), he now gives concerts in Europe mainly but also in North and Latin America.

CD records, radio and tv presentations gave him global recognition.

In 1998 he signed an exclusive contract with SONY CLASSICAL and, for the first time, published his organ transcription for Antonio Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" through this international label.

From 1999 to 2006 he had been living in Curitiba (Brazil) and had been teaching at the local music highschool.
